Are you ...
Curious?  Conscientious?  Inquisitive?  Adventurous?

Do you love science and math?  Have you ever wanted to learn more about a particular topic in science?  Have you ever wanted to create your own science project (like building your own iPod, building a robot, learning about the ecosystem of a stream near you, or even learning more about global warming)?  Have you ever wanted to believe that your work could make a difference?  Have you ever wanted to change the world?

Well, now you can!  Welcome to The Stars Challenge!

We created The Stars Challenge for students just like you.  The Stars Challenge is a science enrichment program for top 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders that is hosted by Monmouth University.

“It was great! The other kids were just like us. No dorks or geeks or anything!”  Deidre

We start with excellent teachers. Then we focus on real-world problems where you can work in small groups to create innovative solutions.  During classes that meet at Monmouth University, you will have the opportunity to be an innovator, an inventor, a scientist and a scholar—all without the hassle of homework and tests.

The High Technology High School setting offers the feeling that what you are doing matters — because it does.  It is you who will lead America through the 21st century.  It is your work and your collaboration with others that will enable our country to stay on the leading edge of technological innovation for another 100 years.

The Stars Challenge classes are made up of the best and brightest students from our area.  And you will have the unique opportunity to work with other people your age who share your interest in innovation.  One night a week for two hours you can design your own project in a variety of classes such as Introduction to Experimental Design, Environmental Science, Forensics, Thinking Outside the Box, Marine Science or Biotechnology.

We began The Stars Challenge in 2006.  Click here to see the classes that we’ll offer next semester.  Check out our Gallery for videos and pictures from our earlier courses – you might see pictures of some friends here!

So if you want to be involved, if you want to learn what YOU WANT to learn, if you want to make a difference in our world, then fill out your application right now.

The skills you'll learn in the Stars Challenge will be useful to you for the rest of your life. Not only useful to you, but to others around you.
