The Stars Challenge at Monmouth University
The Stars
Challenge was conceived on the beach in Naples,
Florida in 2005. We knew we wanted to do something about science
and technology education for pre-college students. But we couldn’t figure out what to do. As the sun set, Margaret Ann said “We have Kumon, Sylvan and Huntington for kids who need help with
math and science. Let’s do something for
the top math and science students so they get really excited about science and
technology”. That’s where it all began.
The
Stars Challenge is tapping into a
large unmet need for talented middle school students to explore their interests
in science and technology. We’ve found
that students and their parents are hungry for the opportunity we provide to
experience science in a hands-on exploratory fashion, to be guided by gifted
teachers, and to work solving problems with peers who are also motivated to
learn more about science.

available either on-line or to download if you prefer paper. In the Gallery, you can
see pictures and videos from past courses.
We have sections where potential students and parents can learn more about The Stars Challenge. We also
have sections where potential donors can learn what we
need and where potential teachers can see what we’re
looking for. Or use the navigation bar
